There is nothing like well done, live theater that can captivate in ways that film just simply cannot do. The energy of a life show has a very different vibration than what is possible in film. I saw my first Shakespare play at five years old--and while I didn't understand the play, I was captivated by the onstage magic (it was A Midsummer Night's Dream--a play I later performed the roles of both Helena and Titania). Not only did your review make me want to see this play--it also made me want to perform in it! I completely agree with you. I saw this play more than once and loved it. I felt exactly the same as you while driving back home: how too few people got to see it. Everyone should have seen that. The best performance I have ever seen on stage. It may go to the West end or Broadway, apparently 'the Americans' were in last night, along with Trevor Nunn.
